Labor Day, Redefined! Bring me my margarita!

I think Labor Day should be a day set aside to honor all women who have gone through the trials and tribulations of having a baby. What do you think? And moms should get the day off. Employers would still honor the holiday by giving employees the day off, but all the daddies would take over all kid responsibilities, and all the mommies should get together and have a parade, go dancing, visit an amusement park, engage in some recreation sans children. And women who gave birth to twins should get two days off. It’s only fair, right?

We spent Labor Day relaxing after a long drive from Pensacola the previous evening with an upset Kelsey. She was fine on the way to visit her grandparents, 9 hours away. But on the return trip, I figure Kelsey decided she’d had enough of being strapped into a car seat. We had a good visit though.

Kelsey’s vocabulary has grown a little. She says “ma ma ma” now, as well as “ba ba ba.” She still doesn’t have any point of reference for these sounds, although I get ecstatic and do a little dance when she says “ma ma” to me. Before sleep, Kelsey breaks into a litany of “ba ba ba’s” followed by raspberries. The spit flies! She then rolls side to side like a crazed little monkey, arms and legs flailing wildly.
